An Imagine 2.0 model of a Washburn-type steel-strung acoustic guitar. It is
made to a scale of 1 unit = 1 millimetre.
You'll need to make these assignments...
Assign Wood: <Wherever your Imagine 2.0 wood texture is>
Assign HeadStock: <Wherever the headstock brushmap is>
Either put these in your startup, or in a handy executable script file.
Alternatively, you can go through all of the objects in the Detail Editor
and find all of the ones that use the textures, and change the paths. That's
a particularly tedious way to do it, let's face it.
This is one of a series of three guitar models by me... the others are an
electric guitar and a classical guitar. They are all to the same scale. The
readme files may look a bit similar between them... I'm not writing all this
out three times...
Whilst they don't have things like fingerboard inlays, at least major
details like the fret spacing are right. I worked out where they should be.
This means that the frets get closer together at higher positions. I've seen
guitar models where all the frets are equally spaced... I notice these
things, alright?
Feel free to play with the objects that make up the guitar... notice in
particular that you can rotate the tuning pegs.
This and the electric are as featured in Amiga Format's April 1995 Gallery.
If you are interested in how I made these models, why I made them, or what
exactly was wrong with the basic physics of that Start Trek film, I can be
contacted at dc10011@hermes.cam.ac.uk (not during the summer though:
Cambridge University has, like, really short terms.) Also, if you want to
tell me what you think of my models or want to use them in something or
other, that would be nice.
